Aveva announces the latest release of Aveva Plant. Aveva’s new 12.0.SP6 release contains a number of new features and performance enhancements, in addition to being one of the first professional engineering design and visualization software products to support the Microsoft Windows 7 operating system.
New and existing Aveva Plant customers can now take advantage of the advanced capabilities of Windows 7, which is being shipped as a standard operating system by all major PC hardware manufacturers. The 12.0.SP6 release is fully compatible with both the 32- and 64-bit Windows 7 platforms, which support the latest high-performance workstations and servers. In combination with new hardware systems, Windows 7 supports larger 3-D PDMS models and offers greater overall software performance.
In this release Aveva has addressed more than 100 user requests for functional improvements, enhanced its graphical user interfac and tuned up the performance on a number of operations. The release includes an update of Aveva’s Open Steel interface version 2.1, which now manages complex plates and curved members and support for the Steel Detailing Neutral File (SDNF) format for greater compatibility with third-party steel detailing applications. A native 64-bit implementation of the new Aveva Review 12.1 can now handle much larger models with better performance.
AVEVA Plant (12.0 series SP6) is now shipping to existing and new AVEVA customers running on Microsoft Windows 7 operating systems, as well as those still running on Windows XP.
